About Midwestern State University

Midwestern State University is a public liberal arts college in Wichita Falls, which is a city in the US state of Texas, that serves as the county seat of Wichita County, with a population estimated at a number of more than 101 000 inhabitants, during the 2008 census.

Midwestern State was established in 1922 as Wichita Falls Junior College, and adopted its current name in 1975. It is academically organized into 6 colleges through which it offers its students, who number approximately 6500, 16 undergraduate programs, with 43 majors and 30 minors, and 9 graduate programs offering 28 majors and 15 minors.

Athletics

Midwestern State University's athletic teams are known as the Mustangs and they compete in 12 intercollegiate sports in NCAA Division II.
